PlaceHunt is a geography puzzle game published by Map Apps (“we”, “us”). We respect your privacy. This document explains what information the app processes and how.

Summary

No account is required. We do not ask you to register or sign in.
No personal data is collected by us for our own purposes. Gameplay progress is stored locally on your device.
The app is designed to work offline. External links (e.g., to Wikipedia) are opened only when you tap them.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect or store the following for our own use:

Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other contact details;
Precise (GPS) location data of your device;
Payment information;
User accounts or passwords.

Information processed on your device

The app stores the following data locally on your device to provide core functionality:

Level progress, time spent per level, and in‑app settings (e.g., language);
Cached images and other assets for faster loading.

This data is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear progress from the app’s settings or by reinstalling the app.

Advertising (AdMob by Google)

PlaceHunt may display ads served by Google AdMob and its advertising partners. Ad networks may process certain information from your device to provide, measure, and improve ads, prevent fraud, and comply with law. This may include:

Device information (model, OS version, language, screen size);
IP address and coarse location (city/region level);
Advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID / IDFA), app instance IDs, and similar identifiers;
App interactions (e.g., ad impressions, taps).

Personalized vs. non‑personalized ads

In some regions (e.g., EEA/UK), we may ask for your consent to show personalized ads. If you decline, the app will show non‑personalized ads (using contextual information only) or will limit ad processing as required.

Legal bases & regional rights

EEA/UK: Ads may rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time in the app.
Other regions: We follow applicable local laws and platform rules.

How to control ads

Reset or limit your device’s advertising identifier in system settings.
Manage Google ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.

External links & third‑party content

PlaceHunt may offer optional links to reputable sources (e.g., Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons). Tapping a link opens your web browser and is governed by those sites’ own privacy policies. We do not control or receive data from those sites.

Children’s privacy

PlaceHunt is a general‑audience app. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If the app is directed to children or used by children, we configure AdMob to show only age‑appropriate, non‑personalized ads as required by platform policies.

Data security

We use platform facilities (iOS/Android) to store local data securely. As no personal data is transmitted to our servers, the risk of remote exposure is minimized.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect app changes or legal requirements. We will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for major changes we may provide in‑app notice.
